COVID-19 STATEMENT FROM THE PORT

The Port Event Space follows the Ontario Government’s Guidance for professional meetings and event facilities during COVID-19. Please review our policies below prior to booking. Thank you and be safe.

GUEST SAFETY PROTOCOLS

Hand Sanitizer

Hand sanitizer dispensers are placed in main areas throughout the venue. Dispensers are placed in the foyer entrance, each bathroom, kitchen prep area, coat check area and in the main event space. In the kitchen prep area, as well as each bathroom, there is hand soap for hand-washing.

Facial Masks

Face masks are mandatory for both guests and staff when walking around the venue. Guests can choose to not wear their masks when eating and/or drinking while seated. All staff will always wear masks when working with clients and their guests.

Physical Distancing

All guests are to keep six feet apart when outside of their immediate social circle during the event.

Signage

Throughout the venue there will be health and hygiene posters reminding guests of proper hand-washing and physical distancing requirements.

Contract Tracing

Upon entry to The Port Event Space, each guest will be required to provide their contact information to the staff host of the event. This practice enables us to notify other guests should they have encountered another person who may be infected with the virus.

STAFF’S RESPONSIBILITIES

Staff temperatures will be taken upon arrival for shifts and documented. Any employee of The Port Event Space registering a temperature above normal will be requested to go home and seek medical attention for their and the community’s well being.

Staff will wash their hands thoroughly multiple times during an event and after every cough, sneeze or touching of their face.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided to all our staff which includes reusable masks, gloves, and face shields.

COVID-19 training will be provided to all staff to ensure all our guests and staff stay safe.

CLEANING & SANITIZATION POLICIES

The Port Event Space will be sanitized before, during and after every event. As per Provincial and local Health Unit guidelines, sanitization would include, but not limited to, all door knobs, light switches, cabinet handles, faucet handles, tables, chairs, flat surfaces, hand railings and electronics.

Cleaning products used are approved by Ministry of Health Canada.
